Finnish developer has won a contract from the Belgian TETRA operator Astrid to supply a nationwide automatic vehicle & person location (AVL/APL) system for its users in the emergency services.

Astrid wanted to find a scalable TETRA-based solution for its Central Location Server requirement, with the goal of establishing efficient tracking of assets, vehicles and persons with a very high grade of service, fully integrated within mission-critical communications for Astrid’s public safety users.

“We chose Portalify’s solution because it is designed specifically for complex TETRA environments and because of the company’s track record for proven, robust and large-volume nationwide AVL/APL deployment”, said Yves Delvaux, chief operating officer of Astrid.

Performance and a low load on the network were among Astrid’s key requirements. The Portalify solution includes management of real-time and historic location information. It operates on decentralized or centralized network architectures can support 40?000 plus users.
