Mercedes-Benz has installed a TETRA network at its Berlin engine plant for use by the factory fire brigade. The Hytera Mobilfunk Accessnet-T IP TETRA system, installed by local company Berolina Elektronik, will be used during fire service drills and operations at the factory in the Marienfelde district of the city.

Jörg Massierer, chief of the factory fire brigade, said: “This system covers almost any communication requirement in the plant, irrespective of whether lone worker protection, the electronic information system or works safety is involved.”
