Thames Valley police is replacing 675 of its fixed and vehicle-based mobile radios with the SRG3900 GPS by Sepura.

The force focused on factors such as PEI interface capability and gateway functionality, selecting the SRG3900 GPS for its performance. Thames Valley police serves more than two million residents throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, including rural areas with sub-optimal network coverage. The model will reduce training costs as it has a common interface for the force, which is a long-term user of Sepura hand-held radios.

“Ensuring the safety of both the general public and our officers is of paramount importance”, says Julian Smith, Airwave system engineer for Thames Valley police. “The SRG3900 GPS more than meets our operational requirements, providing coverage exactly when and where it’s needed.”
